The Big Boy, is this the biggest burger in town?  No, but I’ll come to that later.  One of 11 burgers here and aptly named the Big Boy, he is triple stacked, smothered with Swiss and Jack cheese then layered with bacon, hash brown, onion rings and pickles, very posh.

Superb food and huge portions. We visited for dinner on Friday night. The atmosphere was really good, wasn’t overly busy but enough people. Staff quick and fairly attentive. Had burnt ends, hush puppies and chicken wings to start. The hush puppies were very good, not had them before. The burnt ends were amazing, the BBQ was more tangy than sweet which I loved. And the wings were huge! For main I had the Peanut butter, chilli jam, bacon and cheese burger. Sounds like a strange combo. But it worked so well, definitely going to try to recreate that! And the chips!!! How do you get them so crispy?! Others had the kimchi pork belly burger which was great, the kimchi was the best I’ve tried, and I make my own! And the ribs were knockout. Probably the best I’ve had. Again, the BBQ sauce on these was incredible. Almost gravy like but still tangy and sweet. And to top it all off, Samuel Adams Boston lager on tap! Would highly recommend this place. I work in London and visit quite a few places there for BBQ, and have to say Nolita Cantina is easily level pegging for top of my list now.

Yard & Coop Liverpool

In short this burger is a triple cheese, bacon and bourbon BBQ chicken burger.  In long, it’s a buttermilk fried chicken breast with shredded buttermilk chicken thigh in a brioche bun, which is then literally smothered with three different cheeses, bacon, bourbon BBQ sauce, sriracha sauce, onion rings, tomato, gherkin and lettuce.  And chips.

This is so fab – we loved eating our food in the chicken coop the kids thought it was fab (so did we), food was excellent, the place itself is so lovely and staff were great – this is well worth a visit you will not be disappointed

The Dirty Burger is not for the faint hearted, or the small of stomach.  This cheeky little number from the Button Street Smokehouse includes two beef patties, BBQ pulled pork, bacon, BBQ gravy, onion rings, cheese, lettuce and tomato.  Go hungry, you have been warned.

Nice food. This is handily situated just around the corner from Matthew Street. The decor is great. Really good American sports bar theme with bare brick walls, wooden floors and American knick- knacks. The waitress who served us was excellent and was quick to bring both drinks and food we ordered. The food itself was good but, for the price, we thought we could of had a bit more. I had the baby back ribs and my partner had the brisket. The choice of beers is good too. One thing I would say is that when we got the bill at the end, we could of done with a pair of tooth picks. The girl did find us some, but the only things they had were the type with a flag on that they stick in the top of the burger. Only a small point but it would help. Will try the burgers next visit to see what they are like.

Death Row Diner

If you’re going to Death Row Diner, you might as well go The Whole Nine Yards (see what they did there, very clever). The wittily named burger is another of these new-fangled buttermilk fried chicken breast thingies, topped with a bacon and onion ring and pink sauce (that’s what it’s called, don’t blame me).

Always good! Been here a few times now, loved the concept and feel of the place before I even ate here! Staff are chilled, cool and friendly and good is just amazing! Chicken gravy fries….. oh chicken gravy fries!!! I could eat those every day for the rest of my life! Burgers are huge, chicken is succulent, faultless! I’ve recently started working nearby, and know that my waistline will suffer being so close to this gem!

Uncle Sam’s

94 Bold Street, Liverpool L1 4HY, England

Thousands of attempts…Only 29 winners…, that’s the tagline for the 5lbs/2.28kg king of burgers.  5lb is bigger than my head, you’re eating something that’s bigger than my head, just think about that.

Here’s how it goes: you have 1 hour to complete Uncle Sam’s Burger challenge, features the Burger patty, weighting 2lbs in total, with additional crispy bacon, a mix of American and cheddar cheese, onion rings and a heap of fries, topped off with an 11inch burger bun.

I’ll say it again, bigger than my head.

If you can finish all of this within an hour, you don’t pay, and you get medal and a photo on the wall of fame.  There is a video on their website of someone attempting this; Randy, after Deadpool, you are the most disgusting superhero.  Could you be the next winner of the biggest food challenge in Liverpool?

Good luck!

Fantastic Food.  We love this restaurant and yesterday was our 3rd visit. I would suggest there isn’t a decent restaurant like this to do 3 starters, 2 mains and 2 beers for £35!!! The prawn linguine is to die for, yeah when it’s busy service can be a challenge, but Saturday night anywhere will have its moments. Can’t wait until visit no.4.
