Doctor Duncan’s attracts many real ale enthusiasts because of the huge variety and excellence of the guest and cask ales on offer, which won it the first Cask Marque accreditation in Liverpool. The building itself was built for Pearl Insurance in 1901 and is best known for its elaborately-tiled interior and wonderful wing-backed chairs which lend it a good old-fashioned interior, whose affable staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

You can grab a pie and a pint and rest your weary bones awhile in a proper local pub and be off again, or spend the whole afternoon trying the comprehensive selection of beers.
